Delhi Transport Corporation or DTC has truly transformed the way the buses are driven in and out of the country. In a bid to secure their reputation as a publicly safe transport services, the DTC buses have announced a lot of technology driven services for the ease of the customers.

The first step in this regard is to form a squad of mobile teams to catch the errant drivers, conductors or other bus personnel. They will also take into task for the passengers who try to behave in an unruly manner or travel without a valid ticket and create ruckus in the bus.

Another endeavor to make DTC buses more passenger-friendly is the introduction of voice announcement system. This will make the traveling commuters aware of the next stop coming so that they can be prepared. The voice system will also inform the passengers of the route which a particular bus is traveling. Apart from this, an electronic display board will flash the details to help the deaf people.

The above two changes are introduced in DTC buses with a view to enhance public safety and ensure that they have a smooth journey throughout. Initially, these changes will be enforced on selected routes but later, they will be incorporated throughout.

Buses are considered to be the most preferred medium of travel among the people of the middle class. There is a tremendous amount of people who travel by buses daily in the state of Delhi. The Delhi buses serve more than 800 stops all around the city and the state. It was in the year 1948 that the Government of India took over the bus services in Delhi. They had named it as the Delhi Transport Service. Then according to the Road transportation act of 1950, a Delhi Bus Transport Authority was set up which would officially decide on all the routes of Delhi buses. Also if there is going to be any New Delhi buses operating then it would be decided by this authority only.
